Budtender

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a positive, inclusive retail experience
• Verify valid government-issued ID and ensure all customers are 21+, in compliance with New York law
• Educate customers on cannabis products, including flower, edibles, vapes, concentrates, and topicals
• Explain cannabinoid content (THC/CBD), dosing, onset times, and safe consumption practices
• Make personalized product recommendations based on customer needs and experience levels
• Accurately process sales using a POS system in accordance with state tracking requirements
• Maintain compliance with all regulations set by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management
• Stay current on legal purchase limits and product restrictions in New York
• Assist with inventory, restocking, and maintaining clean, organized displays
• Follow all security, safety, and cash-handling procedures
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and discretion
• Ensure sales floor is properly stocked and presence of the store is well maintained
• All other duties as assigned by store leadership
• Provide necessary support to management team to ensure retail store operations run smoothly, properly and in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, including: daily activities, maintenance, and customer information for any reported issues and/or complaints
• Promote a work environment that is positive, communicative, customer-oriented, and compliant

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of cannabis products and effects (training provided)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
• Must comply with all state licensing/training requirements

Not Necessary but Preferred

• Have Previous Knowledge of Cannabis Industry
• Previous experience with POS Systems

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• Possess valid driver’s license or state ID
• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
• Must be flexible regarding work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
